Well, this will be my last installment with the build.
Next time you'll see it, it will be complete!:D
I am now at the finish stage then will attach the bridge and setup and
she's ready.
Here's the last glimpse as she sits this evening.

The top shows my sculpted bridge design.

My finished carved neck. Ended up being not such a bad job afterall.

Here's an idea of what the final will resemble.
I love the BRW fretboard too.
Believe it or not, this fretboard is actually just natural ebony.
It's from an auction years ago from the old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo.

Chris,
Beautiful guitar. What variety of walnut are you using, and where did you get it?

A very nice website, and sample of your singing work. I'm ordering the CD...

Gene,
Thanks for the compliments. The walnut is Claro from Brian Hawkins
(Beach Tonewood) an OLF sponsor.

Thanks also for the compliments on my website (pretty amatuer IMO but I
don't know much about web building and my software is antiquated by
today's standards), and also for ordering my music. Which one were you
ordering? I'm shipping out some other cd orders on Thursday and it
would be nice if I could have yours rerady and just make one trip.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'm really enjoying this and falling
in pretty deep. I already have most of the materials for the next three!
All I need is kerfing and one set of back & sides yet to be determined.
I have three beautiful redwood tops, the sister set of walnut to this one
and some nicely figured bubinga. I'm thinking maybe a nice set of
rosewood for the other top but who knows?

Anyways, thanks again and thanks also for the many great tips and ideas I
get here.

Chris,
you da man!!! Keep up the good work, and post some pics when it is all shiny. I love the shape and the fingerboard. I worked at a place where all of the fingerboards would have to be perfect black. I got tired of people complaining about streaks in the fingerboard. The stripes and such are just a natural piece of wood. I love the look of a striped fingerboard.

Thanks Homey,

I looked thrpough a stack of about 200 fretboards before finding that
one.
Nothing wrong with an all-black fretboard, or those who prefer them, but
man, this one just spoke to me. er, I mean shouted at me!
